Our Story

Kia ora, we’re Lee and Malesha Hunter.

Nau mai, haere mai ki Parangarehu.

We are operating Parangarehu on behalf of the owners of the Tupoki Takarangi Trust.

Just 30 minutes from the nearest town, Parangarehu is Māori whenua (land) nestled on Wellington’s stunning South Coast.

Passed down through generations of whānau (family), it is significant to our iwi, Te Āti Awa from the northern Taranaki region, who migrated southwards to Te Whanganui a Tara (Wellington) in the 1820s.

We are fiercely proud of this whenua – from the raw beauty of the surrounding nature to the seclusion from city life, and the enduring wairua (spirit) and mōuri (lifeforce) of our tūpuna (ancestors).
